Sector Portraits

Sewing and Garment Technology

The early signs of a global recovery in the industry, following the drop in textile quotas, and the return of investments were already just noticeable in 2005. Germany remains the third most important supplier country for sewing and garment equipment worldwide and is now focusing on the Indian subcontinent.

Processing of Technical Textiles

Products made from technical textiles are now an indispensable part of our everyday lives. We see them in road construction, marvel at them as futuristic roof constructions on football stadia, wear them playing sport or protect ourselves with them during hazardous activities. The fields of application are many and diverse and span all manner of industries.

Shoe and Leather Technology

In 2005, German shoe and leather machine construction technologies worth Euro 40.7 million were shipped to over 100 countries all over the world. This makes it one of the highest-exporting subsectors of the Federal Republic of Germany’s machinery and plant construction industry. Traditionally, companies from Europe and Asia are the industry’s biggest customers.

Laundry and textile cleaning technology 2006

German laundry and textile cleaning technology is used worldwide in industrial, large-scale laundries, hospital and hotel laundries, by workwear service providers and coin-operated laundries, along with small private textile cleaning companies or textile cleaning chains that can be found in any town.
