The VDMA German Garment and Leather Technology Association includes both sewing and garment machinery, laundry and textile cleaning equipment, machines for shoe and leather production and machines for the processing and finishing of technical textiles. These also include CAD, scanning technology, control and drive technology, accessories, tools, ironing and finishing technology and conveyor technology.
German sewing and garment technology is renowned worldwide for its state-of-the-art production methods, modular construction, the integration of sophisticated microelectronics and use of control and monitoring mechanisms. It is also synonymous with consistently high quality and productivity. German sewing and garment technology guarantees the type of flexibility that safeguards competitive advantages in the long-term.
Sewing and garment technology machinery and equipment has long since ceased to be used solely for the manufacture of conventional garment products. Protective clothing, functional wear, tarpaulins and sails, rucksacks and bags, upholstered furniture, quilts, seats for cars and planes, airbags and much, much more are also tailor-made, fitted, prepared and transported using VDMA machinery (see Finishing of Technical Textiles).
German shoe and leather technology is synonymous with precision and state-of-the-art technologies in a wide and challenging sector. The leather-processing and shoe-making sector is just one focus of this vast industry.
All of the machines and systems used in this wide-ranging field of application share one common characteristic: they all guarantee excellent manufacturing quality and coordinate perfectly with the individual use of each individual system. The concept is completed with comprehensive data capture, process-coordinated control and software concepts and control and adjustment systems.
Environmental protection, the sparing of resources, the protection of humans and productivity are all important and inescapable factors to bear in mind when handling water and cleaning agents. International standards, laws and guidelines protect our natural resources and determine the use of chemical cleaning substances.
German manufacturers of laundry and textile cleaning machinery, ironing technology and logistics are aware of their responsibilities and supply machinery and equipment that represents the technological and ecological state of the art. As early as the development phase, new processing techniques and system solutions are integrated, thereby guaranteeing the desired level of quality and safety.
The processing of ultra-modern and technological textiles demands the use of state-of-the-art technology from the planning and production stages right through to transport and logistics.
One area of application is the processing of carbon-reinforced fibres for use in aircraft such as the Airbus which is tailored and strengthened using special methods. Other focal areas include the packaging industry, the upholstery industry and the manufacture of seating for automobiles and aircraft.
Garment production, shoe manufacturing, leather processing, the processing of technical textiles and also laundry and textile cleaning are now represented on every one of the world’s markets. In Germany, cutting-edge machines and systems are manufactured for precisely these markets and processes.
The customer’s production situation, their location and the environmental conditions for production form the basis of the design of our machines. Individual, customised solutions are the fruit of partnership-style collaboration between machine manufacturers and customers. State-of-the-art production methods such as modular constructions, the integration of sophisticated microelectronics, control, monitoring and troubleshooting using smart programs assist our customers in their endeavours to maintain a consistently high level of quality and efficiency. They also give them the flexibility they need to secure long-term competitive advantages.
