High Tech in textile machines for higher quality and productivity

Textile machines are getting gradually faster and more productive. At the same time quality standards have been raised, textiles have to be produced in most limited tolerances.

By means of latest technologies and machine conceptions the German textile machinery industry helps to make their demanding customers fit for the job.

Laser technology for example is used where highest precision and dimensional accuracy are required. In case of rotors of spinning machines with up to 150.000 r.p.m. laser technology is used for a precise determination of revolutions, in order to determine the optimum moment of joining the thread via the machine control system. Exactly matching and reproducible yarn values at up to 288 spinning elements of a machine must be guaranteed for the production of ambitious textiles.

At circular knitting machines integrated robots take over the change of needle selection, a job which in former times has been done mechanically. Instead of 40 minutes, the time for a pattern change of the machines has so been reduced to one fifth. Modern knitting machines produce up to 2.000 meshes/sec. In order that the machine runs to an optimum, the knitting cylinder temperature is regulated, same as in case of passenger cars, by a closed water-cooling system.

The customer is not left on his own with this High Tech. He can make machine adjustments or draft designs consistent with the machine manufacturer via the machine display and the internet, he has access to spare parts lists or gets support for maintenance work.

The operational conditions of textile machines are so ambitious that the developed products, such as e.g. a data bus of a weaving machine, set standards for other branches and proves to be worth while for the automobile industry, as well.
